2. Technically good
Weakness:
Runtime of the film too lengthy about 172 Minutes ( 2 Hours 50 Minutes)
Rating: 2.75/5
Performances:
Rajini was at his usual best, his energy levels and dialogue delivery will be feast for fans, his getup looked odd on screen for few scenes, but leaving the film’s fate aside Super star’s performance especially in Raja’s role is astonishing and Lingaa’s role is tailor made for him and he nails it. Anushka looked okay on screen, her styling was mismatch for her, Sonakshi was misfit, both of them had some scope to perform but the later one seems to be not comfortable with local language.
Brahmanandam’s comedy was pale, Santhanam entertained at places, there were many artists on screen including Jagapathi Babu, none of them created impact on the film.
Technical Aspects:
Music by Ar Rehman was mediocre, except for the Mona Mona song none of the songs were impressive, BGM is also okay, a lot was expected from him especially after Shivaji and Robo.
DOP Ratnavelu needs to be exalted, camera work is top notch. Editing was poor, dialogues were good, action sequences were on par.
Productions values are great, film looked rich and grandeur was visible in each and every fame.
