NTR Arts presentation Pataas is a Telugu Action Entertainer Starring Kalyan ram under his own Banner. It was director Anil Ravipudi debut movie . Shruti Sodhi pairing up with Kalyan ram. Sai Karthik composed tunes for this film and there are most unlike of tollywood music lovers . Collaboration of Sai Karthik and Kalyam ram for the 2nd time after OM 3D. Editing was done by Tammiraju and Cinematography handled by Sarvesh Murari. Pataas completed all censor formalities and received “A” Certificate from the censor board. Pataas all set to release on January 23rd, 2015.Kalyam Ram will be seen as Powerful police in this film. Pataas movie Posters, Teasers, Trailers have brought much hype on this film for Nandamuri fans. It seems both Nandamuri heroes Jr.NTR and Kalyan Ram have determined to claim their part in huge box-office attackers in 2015 and coincidentally they both are seen as dynamic cops in their upcoming movies ‘Pataas and ‘Temper’. Other than the lead roles many promising actors have been featured in this film Sai Kumar, Brahmanandam, M.S. Narayana, Ashutosh Rana.

Basic Plot:
ACP Kalyan Sinha (hero) is a corrupt police officer, he is greedy for money and doesn’t care for justice, his higher official Sai Kumar- DGP notices his activities and warns him to stop all kind of activities, Kalyan ties up with villain and helps him in all kind of illegal activities, this irritates DGP further and he finds background of ACP and his motivation to become corrupt officer, later due to few incidents ACP realizes his mistakes and turns into a sincere police officer. How he manages to destruct Villain, why he turns into corrupt officer and how get his reputation back in basic plot of Pataas.
Performances:
No doubt this is the best film from Kalyan Ram after Athanokkade but he needs to work on his dialogue diction and comedy timing, he couldn’t add anything to the script but didn’t spoil it too, he was good in action sequences and serious scenes but fell below par in emotional and comedy scenes, his dances were not so great. His character was designed with lot of attitude and sarcasm but Kalyan Ram couldn’t do justice to his role completely.
Sruthi Sodi is okay as an debutante, she had good character and her performance was also okay. MS Narayana’s spoofs were hilarious, this is his best comedy after Dhookudu, Sai Kumar with his strong base voice rocked as usual, Ashutosh Rana was okay, Posani as minister entertained, all others did good job.
Technicians:
Music by Sai Kartheek was good, all songs were good to hear and on screen Balakrishna’s “Arey O Samba” remix song will be feast to Nandamuri audience.
Camera work is fine, dialogues were good, editing could have been better especially in the second half, production values were great.
Director and His Film:
Anil Ravipudi a debutante as director has chosen very routine story, but he succeeded in getting right screenplay, his treatment to the film was adorable, he maintained good tempo through out the film, comedy scenes were well designed and rightly mixed with emotional scenes, first half of the film was entertaining with racy screenplay and second half was bit dragging with lack of comedy. Anil Ravipudi is definitely one of the talented writers in the industry, he got the commercial pulse right with the first film itself, he will definitely make it into next level and can deliver a blockbuster with a star director.
Confrontation scenes between hero and villain were well scripted and comedy tracks especially MS Narayana’s was well designed, he also maintained enough fans stuff in the movie.
Anil Ravipudi joins the list of commercial entertainers VV Vinayak, Sreenu Vaitla, Harish Shankar with the first film itself.
